FBC Goes "Orange"

posted Aug 27, 2013, 8:26 AM by FBCrin Booth   [ updated Apr 25, 2015, 10:41 AM ]

Some time ago the decision was made to adopt the strategy of “Orange”.  “Orange” is a comprehensive plan, or strategy for combining critical influences in life to fuel faith in the next generation. The Orange Strategy is a strategy built on the principles that two influences (the church and the home) can have a greater impact when they work together.  Orange is a path, a strategy that combines the strength of two—yellow and red—to create the brilliance of another, Orange.  By combining the critical influences of the light of the church (represented by yellow) and the love of the family (represented by red), the Orange strategy synchronizes efforts and shows a generation who God is, more effectively than either could alone.

Our Pre-School Children

are immersed in an approach called

                    First Look.

First Look is a unique approach to curriculum for churches, designed to give preschool children a first impression of their heavenly Father and the wonder of His love for each one of them.  First Look strives to incite WONDER in the hearts of our young ones by instilling these

three basic truths:

God made me.

God loves me.

Jesus wants to be my friend forever.

Our Elementary-age kids

are in a constant state of discovery. How can we tap into the way kids are naturally wired to discover‚ so they can begin to experience for themselves who God is, how He sees them and how much He loves them? How can we show them God’s Big Story and help them discover the active part they can play in this life-long adventure, to be more like Him?

252 BASICS curriculum and resources PROVOKE DISCOVERY, inviting kids to live out their new understanding of how to grow in relationship with God and with others.

252 Basics is a unique approach to curriculum for churches and Christian schools. It is built around three Basic Truths every child should embrace according to what Jesus modeled in Luke 2:52…

(And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.):

I need to make the wise choice.

I can trust God no matter what.

I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
