May 4, 2014 - Dealing With Disappointment - Habakkuk 3:16-19

  • Disappointments are inevitable, but discouragement is a choice.
    • The simple fact is that disappointment occurs almost daily in our lives. The real question is how you and I deal with disappointment.
  • One of the modern ‘Christian Myths’ is that when you trust Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, all your problems will go away. Although our most important problem, our spiritual problem, that is our relationship with Jesus Christ, is forever solved, Christians often face a new set of problems that non-believers don’t have.
  • God welcomes our sincere questions.
  • The essence of disappointment is the expecting something that will improve your circumstances, but receiving something that actually makes the situation worse.
  • When faced with trial and crisis, Habakkuk chooses faith over discouragement.
“Faith grows stronger when we deliberately release our anxieties, remembering that “The Lord God is my strength” and that his plans are the best, no matter how unreliable life may feel at the moment. Our past, present, and future all belong to the Lord. Our times-Our very lives-are in his hands.
Trust Him!”
