  • According to Paul, believers ought to be good at saying goodbye to loved ones. That doesn't mean it isn't painful for us, but it does mean that we who know about Easter ought to know how to grieve with hope.
  • The Bible is profound not only in what it does tell us but also in what it doesn't tell us.
  • Everything the Bible tells us about the future is meant to help us live more faithfully in the present.
  • Those who believe in heaven are free from worrying about the future. The Bible claims it has all been worked out. That is all you need to know to enjoy the journey along the way. And it is the key to being able to love without fearing the day someone leaves you.
  • Heaven is a place where we fully enjoy communion with God and communion with those God has given to us forever.
  • Lives worthy of grief are accomplished only by those who are not so distracted by trying to get their lives to the right place that they miss the opportunity to love those around them.
