In Mark 16: 15, God tells us to
“Go into all the world and preach the Good News to all creation.”
Tonya Holliday has answered God’s call. In January of 2012, Tonya left familiar surroundings, friends and church to teach in El Salvador for one year. She is teaching English to elementary students who will further go out with mission teams to translate the Gospel across Central America. Keep Tonya in your prayers that her spiritual, financial, emotional and physical needs continue to be met . For the time being, to send a message to Tonya, contact the church at :

We cannot all “go into the world” outside our comfort zone, but we can have an impact for Jesus by praying for and helping those like Tonya who can.

The Fellowship Hall once again rings with the cheers (and groans) of wanna-be V-Ball stars as they gather to release the day’s cares on that little white ball! It’s a great way to get some exercise, but greater still it’s a wonderful time of fellowship and friendly competition, and sharing prayer concerns in the half-time prayer circle. No matter what your skill level we would love for you to join us. Just show up and have a great time. During the Upward Basketball season, volleybal will meet Mondays in the Fellowship Hall from 7 – 9 PM.

The Upward Basketball leadership team is eagerly anticipating another great basketball season. We hope that you will choose to have your child(ren) participate this year. Our first year we had 59 players and grew to 166 players last year.
This league relies on dedicated volunteers to provide coaches, referees, and score keepers. Please consider how God may be leading you to become involved in upward Basketball this year.

Please watch your bulletin and Gospel Newsletter for the dates of upcoming business meetings. The Annual Business Meeting was held on December 6, 2011 at 7:00 pm. Our members are not overburdened with monthly business meetings as some have experienced in the past. Therefore, it is very important that each member prayerfully consider participating in the business of the Church. Though we are not a business, there are certain matters that must be addressed if we are to continue being an effective body for spreading the Gospel.
Please contact the Church Office if you are interested in sharing flowers for all to enjoy in the sanctuary. Flowers can mark a special occasion, be in honor of someone you would like to recognize, be in memory of a loved one. or just adorn the church with God’s beautiful creations.
This is a quick reminder that the Community Food Pantry is in need of cereal, including the small sizes and soups. At this time the Pantry would also gratefully welcome monetary donations to help with the expenses of keeping the Pantry effective in helping those in need. Thank you for your generous donations.
Choir for our little ones has resumed after taking time off for the summer. The children’s choir includes young ones of ages Kindergarten through 6th grade. The choir meets on Thursdays from 3:45-5:00pm (starting with an after-school snack). Choir leaders Rex Bailey and Sara James are enthusiastic and caring leaders and they welcome new members at any time! See Rex or Sara for more information. Get your kids and grand kids involved! It’s great fun and a wonderful way for our young ones to get in the habit of serving the Lord. Many of you know how much their voices and actions add a sweet touch to any service !
